Real Madrid climbed to the top of La Liga with a 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad on Sunday.
“We’re not going to control the controversy. We’ve succeeded on the field, so I believe the win is deserved,” the Madrid head coach told a news conference. He was referring to the decisions made by referees in the match which seemed to favour his team.
Zinedine Zidane came out of constant conversation about refereeing decisions after this win:
“What worries me is that, by the end of the day, we’re just talking about the referees, it appears we haven’t done much on the ground.
“These are the things of the referee and, as always, I don’t get involved, he does his job and nothing else. I have to respect these things and think only about what we did. This is a well-deserved win, which is the most significant thing for us.”
