Right-back Vladimir Coufal is set to join West Ham United in a €5.5 million contract.
Caufal is scheduled to fly in for his medical team today, ahead of a move that could be sealed by the end of the week.
West Ham currently has Ben Johnson as their only right-back choice after Ryan Fredericks picked up a weekend injury to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
After Jeremy Ngakia and Pablo Zabaleta’s departures last season, Hammer’s boss David Moyes was eager to sign another right-back.
And now he’s got his guy in Coufal. The defenseman scored seven goals in 81 games for his side in the last two campaigns, helping them win back-to- back league titles.
His experience and consistency in the Champions League is going to be useful in West Ham.
The 28-year-old will be reunited at London Stadium with his fellow Czech Republic International and former Slavia Teammate Tomas Soucek.
Slavia Prague President Jaroslav Tvrdik confirmed the news on Twitter.
“I thanked the huge warrior and heartfelt Vladimir Coufal for his excellent work in Slavia. He transfers to WHU on the basis of a concluded contract. The condition of the transfer is a medical examination tomorrow in London. The transfer price is 6 million euros. Vlado, let them give you PL!” he wrote.
