Tunisia vs France: Preview and Odds

Tunisia vs France
FIFA World Cup
Group D
30th November 2022
Education City Stadium

The clear favorite of this game is reigning world champions France. When you think of Tunisia, you don’t exactly associate this country with football. One of the reasons for this is that the few successes of the Tunisian national team were long ago and only the most loyal football fans will be able to remember them. Coach Jalel Kadri has done his best to prepare the team for the 2022 World Cup. While the team isn’t exactly star-studded, they do have some talents. These are e.g. B. Mejbri from Manchester United youth team and Anis Ben Sliamane. After losing 0-0 to clear favorites Denmark, it seemed that Tunisia would go far, but after losing 1-0 to Australia in the second game, things are not looking too good for Tunisia.

The French team is determined to defend their title and finally break the curse that says the reigning world champions will do poorly at the World Cup to follow. France fell victim to this curse in 2002 and were eliminated after the first round. After the clear 4:1 win against Australia and the 2:1 win against Denmark, France’s progress to the round of 16 now seems certain.

Tunisia’s chances of qualifying for the round of 16 at the 2022 World Cup look bleak. A draw or even a win against France seems almost impossible. The total value of the Tunisian national team is currently 66.45 million euros and has grown by more than 20 million euros since the beginning of September. The team’s most valuable player is Ellyes Skhiri with a current market value of 13.00 million euros. Tunisia is currently 30th in the FIFA World Ranking.

After two wins in a row and now 6 points under their belt, France has almost qualified for the round of 16. The final opponent is Tunisia and could only pose a threat to the reigning world champions if they grossly underestimate them on the pitch. But with the likes of Moussa Diaby and Ousmane Dembele in the squad. The final game of the group stage should definitely end well for them.
