Tottenham Hotspur signed Pierluigi Gollini on a loan last summer from Atalanta. The deal included an option to buy. The London club looked at the deal not just as a backup option but a potential replacement in the future.
Things, however, did not go as expected for the keeper as he did not get the minutes he would have expected. As a result Tottenham Hotspur have announced the departure of the Italian along with a number of youth players.
The club announced: “We can confirm the departure of Pierluigi Gollini following the conclusion of his loan spell from Atalanta.
“The goalkeeper joined us last July for the duration of the 2021/22 season and made 10 appearances in our colours.
“We thank Pierluigi for his service and wish him well for the future.
“We can also confirm the departures of Development Squad players J’Neil Bennett, Kacper Kurylowicz, Dermi Lusala, Thimothee Lo-Tutala, Josh Oluwayemi, Tobi Omole and Isak Solberg following the conclusion of their contracts.
“Under-18s players Jez Davies, Jordan Hackett, Khalon Haysman, Renaldo Torraj and Oliver Turner have also departed following the conclusion of their scholarships.
“We wish them all the best in the next stage of their careers.”
Tottenham are hoping to secure the services of Fraser Forster when his contract expires with Southampton. Who, according to few sources, has already completed a medical last week.
