Marc-Andre ter Stegen said he would not leave Barcelona this summer.
“There’s no chance of me leaving Barcelona this summer,” ter Stegen told Kicker.
The goalkeeper feels the team is in great shape to fight for the Champions League and the LaLiga:
“On a physical level, we have rarely been at such a high level. And mentally we will be much more focused on the games that remain.
“A match without fans is not the most attractive thing, but the ball will roll and that is what excites us.
“We are in a good position, but Real Madrid will not give us an inch.
“[In the Champions League] we have a good chance getting to the next round and we want to take advantage of it.”
The German went on to say that his agent and club had been negotiating a new deal before the COVID-19 crisis struck:
“My agent and the club have had conversations, but the coronavirus got in the way and it was not the time to discuss the contract.
“At a time when many people are concerned about their lives, we decided to postpone it.
“I feel good in this city and my family do too.”
