The head coach of Manchester United has summed up the results of the Europa League quarter-final return leg against Granada. And after winning 2-0, these were the exact words of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – ‘Granada are a real pain in the ass’.
“2-0, no conceded goals, some good individual performances – we are confident before Sunday’s match [with Burnley],” the coach told BT Sport as per BBC.
Further, per Solskjaer: “Granada are a real pain in the ass. We have a lot of one-on-one battles against them, they send a lot of players to attack. You have to defend well.”
Meanwhile, Roma also proceeded to the Europa League semi-final.
“I have not seen too many Roma games,” Solskjaer said, in the aftermath of Roma winning.
“I know it played two good matches against Ajax, can defend well, as Italian teams do. And we all know Edin Dzeko – any cross into the box is dangerous when he’s there.”
Indeed, Roma defeated Ajax on a 3-2 aggregate (tying 1-1 in the second leg) and will face United in the semi-finals.
And Solskjaer said: “We’re looking forward to the matches. We are in the semifinals. There is a real European battle ahead, because Roma are a team with a rich history. We have played well against Italian clubs in the past.”
“We hope to reach the final. It would be great to win the trophy at the end of this season,” he added.
