Sevilla vs Manchester City: The Sky Blues kick off the UCL campaign with a dominant display in Seville

The Citizens were clear favourites heading into the fixture. However, very few would have expected the game to have panned out the way it did.

The hosts were unable to assert any level of control in the fixture. City’s attack was too good to handle. Haaland, was once again the star as he bagged himself a brace.

Foden and Dias managed to get on the scoresheet as well. This was enough for City to register a 0-4 win.

Post match reactions

Pep Guardiola, Manchester City manager: “We wanted to attack too quickly [in the first half]. When they were playing better, we scored the second goal with a brilliant action from Phil [Foden]. After that, it was easy.

“I think his numbers across his career, not just here, are quite similar. He has an incredible sense of [where] the goal is. We have incredible numbers in terms of scoring goals and we want to continue like that.”

Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City midfielder: “I try to do my job, make the right movements and try to create as many chances as I can and I know one way or another, Erling is going to be there. For the moment, he is scoring the goals to help us win the games.”
