Serie A Football Today – An Asymmetric Fixture List

The second round in 2021-22 will be asymmetrical, as Serie A has opted to change the fixture list. News of Serie A football today- an asymmetric fixture list will apply to the second, but not the first legs.

The Lega Serie A has voted to change the way the fixture list is compiled ahead of the next season. According to Sky Sport Italia, the second-round league matches will not play in the same sequence as the first ones.

The Lega Council met this morning to discuss this very proposition. And the broadcaster has revealed the unanimous decision to alter the Serie A calendar in order to improve game distribution.

According to Sky, the second round is asymmetrical in terms of days when we compare it to the first round.

The only criterion upheld is a gap of at least eight games between the first and second legs.

As a result, Serie A will now be following in the footsteps of other European leagues. The English Premier League, Spain’s La Liga, and France’s Ligue 1, have all previously also implemented this system.

However, Italy is different from the other nations in that the return matches will be different from the first legs.

Nonetheless, the same number of games will play at the same time, only in a different order.
