Sergiño Dest has joined AC Milan on loan from FC Barcelona. The clubs have agreed the transfer for the rest of the season.
The deal also includes an option for Milan to make the signing permanent. If the Serie A clubs decide to make the signing permanent. It would set back the Rosoneri €20 million.
The full-back joined the Catalan club in October 2020. For an initial €21 million fee plus a further €5 million in variables. The USMNT international with 17 caps has made 72 appearances for Barça.
Diavolo announced, ‘AC Milan is pleased to announce that Sergiño Gianni Dest has joined the Club on loan from Barcelona FC, with an option to buy.
‘Born in Almere in the Netherlands on 3 November 2002, Dest came through the youth ranks at Ajax and made his first-team debut in 2019. In total, he made 38 appearances for the Dutch side scoring two goals, and winning a Dutch Supercup. In 2020, he joined Barcelona FC notching up 72 appearances and scoring two goals; he also won a Spanish Cup. As per the national team, he has 17 appearances and 3 goals for the USA. Winning the Concacaf Nations League 2019/20.’
Blaugrana confirmed the transaction, stating: ‘FC Barcelona and AC Milan have reached an agreement on the loan of the player Sergiño Dest for the 2022/23 season.
‘The deal also includes an option to buy the player once the loan period expires.’
