Delio Rossi believes Jose Mourinho at Roma and Simone Inzaghi at Inter are the favourites to get the sack first. Rossi predicts Mourinho and Inzaghi will get fired next season, the Serie A coaches most likely to do so.
This summer has seen significant transfers in the Italian top flight, with almost all of the major clubs changing management.
Jose Mourinho made a breaking football transfer to Roma as their new head coach days after Tottenham Hotspur sacked him.
Mourinho has signed a three-year contract with the Giallorossi. And this is his first return to Serie A since winning the Treble with Inter in 2010.
Another coach transfer in Serie A, in transfer news football, was Simone Inzaghi, who replaced Antonio Conte at title-winning Inter.
Rossi Predicts Mourinho and Inzaghi Will Get Fired Next Season
However, these two most sensational signings will also be the first to leave Serie A, or so Delio Rossi claims.
TMW Radio asked ex-Fiorentina and Lazio boss Rossi who, among the new coaches, might be first on the chopping block.
“Mourinho, certainly, as I know what it’s like to work in Rome…” was the response.
“I’d also say Inzaghi because it will not be easy for him at Inter,” Rossi added. “He’s picking up a squad that won the Scudetto and, compared to his predecessor Antonio Conte, he at the very least needs to win something.”
Meanwhile, Lazio has a new coach as well (the football news). In fact, taking over from Inzaghi himself, Maurizio Sarri has already brought a complete tactical change from 3-5-2 to 4-3-3.
And Rossi foresees a rough road ahead for Sarri at Lazio as well:
“It won’t be easy, because I know Sarri’s methods and he needs time, being a so-called teacher of tactics. To make matters worse, during pre-season training he’ll mainly be working with players who are destined to leave, so there won’t be much time to drill the team.”
