Real Madrid ready to let go of these five players this transfer window. According to the Madrid newspaper AS, five players are in the window: Real Madrid will seriously consider bids for Eden Hazard, Dani Ceballos, Marco Asensio, Álvaro Odriozola and Mariano Díaz.
Hazard has a contract until mid-2024, which means that a transfer in this winter or next summer could be attractive for his club. The attacker has been in lesser shape for a long time and has no basic place. Carlo Ancelotti said at his press conference last Thursday that Hazard “looks better than before the World Cup” and that he will use the Belgian because of the full schedule. A day later, however, Hazard sat on the bench for ninety minutes during the duel with Real Valladolid (0-2 win).
Real Betis made an attempt in the summer to loosen Ceballos from Real, but eventually concluded that the costs were too high. The number six of La Liga very much hopes that the midfielder will not extend his expiring contract at the Santiago Bernabéu, which would allow him to transfer freely in the summer. Ceballos himself has indicated that he wants to stay in Madrid, but only played 244 minutes in La Liga this season. A winter departure cannot therefore be ruled out.
Asensio is in a similar position to Ceballos. The attacker made about the same number of minutes in the competition (238) and also has an expiring contract. Like Ceballos, Asensio had a starting place in the duel with Real Valladolid. But is usually on the bench in favor of Federico Valverde. Asensio teamed up with agent Jorge Mendes in April 2022, who seems to have already recommended him to several clubs.
Definite departures
Odriozola is the only player in Real’s entire squad who hasn’t played a single minute this season. If Dani Carvajal is not available at right-back, Ancelotti will opt for Lucas Vázquez. The question is whether Odriozola is seen as third or fourth choice, because eighteen-year-old Vinicius Tobias is also knocking at the door. In short, Odriozola does not have many opportunities to count on and so he is open to a departure. The same goes for his club. His contract will run for another year and a half.
Díaz’s departure is already set, writes AS. The only question is when he will leave the club. Díaz wants to extend his expiring contract himself, but Real has seen enough. With a winter departure, Real prevents Díaz from leaving on a free transfer. So a new employer is being sought for the striker. He himself declined offers from Rayo Vallecano, Celta de Vigo and Fenerbahçe in the past year and a half. Díaz dreams of playing a key role at Real, but it doesn’t look like it will come to that.
