RB Leipzig has parted ways with Brian Brobbey, who has joined Ajax for € 16.35 million. The deal could rise to € 19.35 million through addons.
The Amsterdam club announced: “Ajax and RB Leipzig have reached an agreement for the direct transfer of Brian Brobbey to Amsterdam. Brobbey has signed a contract that will take effect immediately and will run for five seasons, until June 30, 2027. Ajax will pay the German club a transfer fee of € 16.35 million, which can increase to € 19.35 million through variables.
“Calvin Bassey was born on December 31, 1999 in Modena, Italy. The Nigerian international was under contract with Rangers FC until mid-2024. He arrived in Austria today to join first team’s training camp.
“Brobbey (born in Amsterdam, February 1, 2002) joined Ajax’s youth academy in 2010. On October 31, 2020, he made his first team debut during the match between Ajax – Fortuna Sittard: 5-2. In the summer of 2021, the attacker signed a contract with RB Leipzig. Prior to his departure, he played 19 times for Ajax, scoring 6 times.
“In the winter break of last season, Brobbey returned to Ajax on a loan basis from RB Leipzig for six months. In that period, the striker played 13 matches, in which he scored 7 goals. As a result, Brobbey has already won the league twice with Ajax and, as an Ajax player, he also won the Dutch Cup in 2021.”
