Managers’ reaction

Ruud van Nistelrooy, PSV coach: “We had to change a couple of things at half-time. Both teams are so balanced – hopefully our fans can lift us that little bit [in the second leg].

“In the first half Rangers were the better team, we struggled. The fans were behind them and we had to go through a difficult phase. The better of the chances were for us in the second half and 2-2 is a fair result.”

Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Rangers coach: “[Antonio Čolak] gave the energy the team needed. His work rate when we don’t have the ball is really good. He scored a great goal. I’m happy with his performance.”
