Ramos: There Is a Lot to Be Learnt from China

On Tuesday, Sergio Ramos joined Fabio Cannavaro and Luka Modric in organizing the ‘Ramos UNICEF Day’ campaign to collect funds for the procurement of medical supplies in the fight against coronavirus.

Cannavaro is the head coach of the Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande. Luka Modric is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Spanish club Real Madrid and captains the Croatia national team.

The captain of Real Madrid talked about how strict steps are being taken in China.

“This morning I went to a hospital, and from the first minute to the last I was checked,” Cannavaro said. “Here there is an application that tells you your location of the last 14 days. It is spectacular.”

In praise of China, Ramos sought to bust Western myths about the country. “People think that China is a backward country, but not at all. Here, after four months, almost everything has returned to normal.:

Ramos added to the discussion that there was a lot for Spain to learn from China. “They have suffered and are ahead,” Los Blancos’s skipper said. “We have a lot to learn from China. We have to help our heroes, who are the healthcare workers. We have already struggled a lot but this is not over. We have created this day to continue donating. Everything goes for the purchase of equipment. The most important thing is to give information to people.”
