With unrest currently building over the potential deal, a group of Premier League clubs could block the proposed Saudi Arabian takeover by Newcastle United.
New legal documents have emerged, according to The Sun, that provide evidence of a link between the Saudi state and the country’s illegal streaming of sports.
The paperwork is now being considered by lawyers, with the proposed takeover now facing further delays. If found legitimate, this group of clubs could demand that the Premier League to block the £ 300 m sale.
The report goes on to claim that Mike Ashley is becoming increasingly concerned and that the billionaire has been considering seeking other buyers.
