Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has completed a permanent transfer from Barcelona to Chelsea

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has completed a permanent transfer from Barcelona to Chelsea. Barcelona have confirmed the fee involved in the transfer to be €12 million (£10.3 million).

Aubameyang will make the return to the Premier League from Barcelona. A club in which the forward has scored an impressive 13 goals in 24 fixtures. Having joined the Catalan club on 2 February 2022, after Aubameyang’s departure from the club by mutual consent.

The Gabonese international brings into the Bridge loads of experience. Having scored 301 goals in 585 appearances at club level. With 163 of those appearances coming in the Prem having managed to score 92 goals.

Chelsea announced, ‘The experienced forward joins the Blues on a two-year contract and becomes the sixth senior signing of the summer window to bolster our men’s squad following a seven-month stay at Camp Nou. He helped them rise from sixth in La Liga when he joined in February to finish as runners-up.’

On becoming a Chelsea player, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang said: “I’m really happy. It’s an honour to be part of this team and I can’t wait to start. I have some unfinished business with the Premier League so it’s good to be back and really exciting.”

Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly said: “Pierre-Emerick is an elite striker with a proven track record in the Premier League and his arrival strengthens our squad, giving us new attacking options. We are thrilled to have Pierre-Emerick on board with us in the new era at Chelsea and we’re really looking forward to working with him.”
