Managers’ reaction
Giovanni Stroppa: “I feel the trust of the club, the managers have expressed themselves several times. I will be on the bench in Lecce, even if obviously the club decides.
“The first matches were almost prohibitive, but we have already seen that with some recovery we can have our say. With the whole team we are competitive and at a level I can’t find any gaps in psychological matters. We have to continue to believe in what we’re doing, the team is growing and we’re only missing points.”
Gian Piero Gasperini: “Atalanta have never been on top of the table alone, the lads deserve the praise, it’s a nice thing for us and our fans. We’ll try to make it last as much as possible.
“The fans can enjoy this great moment, we know we have a lot of work ahead of the next games. We have a lot of options that are working well. Hojlund scored, Soppy played an excellent game, like Ederson and Lookman.
“It’s important to score goals because it’s how you win games, last season we stopped scoring goals and that’s why we didn’t go forward. This team has different characteristics, this season we have more pace.”
