Milan director Paolo Maldini recently appeared in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport. He gave an insight of various things he has gone through in his time as technical director.
He started off insisting that Rafa Leao wants to stay at the San Siro amidst interest from other clubs. Paolo further added that he is aware of the club’s ambitions and path.
“Leao is appreciative of our help, and I want to hear what he has to say. Rafa informs us that he is aware that Milan must be the destination for the foreseeable future ”
He would then go on to explain about the project at AC Milan. He recalled how they decided to not make any additions in January despite having the budget.
“Although there was a chance, I wasn’t sure if I would take home the Scudetto. The Milan director Paolo Maldini continued. “We truly didn’t have a budget to make the transfer market in January. Juve took Vlahovic, Inter Gosens, and then a small budget came out. At that time, I said, “I don’t want it; we’re already powerful like this.”
He also agreed that his name gives him an advantage in negotiations. But he would the prestige of Milan adds to it.
