Michy Batshuayi has signed for Fenerbahçe from Chelsea

Michy Batshuayi has signed for Fenerbahçe from Chelsea. He joins the Turkish giants on a two-year deal with an option for a third.

The Blues receive a fee of €3.5 million for the transfer. The striker is reported to have agreed to a salary of €3 million a year for the duration of his contract.

Batshuayi moved to Stamford Bridge from Olympique Marseille for a reported €39 million in 2016. Since then the striker has been loaned out to the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Valencia, Crystal Palace and Beşiktaş.

Having been unable to force himself into the squad, he has now moved away from the Bridge. He leaves with 77 appearances for the Blues.

Fener announced, ‘Our club signed a 2+1 year contract with Belgian football player Michy Batshuayi.

‘We say ‘Welcome to our family’ to Michy Batshuayi and wish him many victories and championships with Fenerbahçe jersey.’

The Blues announced, ‘Michy Batshuayi has completed a permanent move to Turkey.’

‘With the transfer window in that country open longer than the one in England, he has moved to Fenerbahce, last year’s runners-up in the Turkish league.

‘Batshuayi was on loan in the same city last season, at Besiktas, scoring 14 times in 42 games for the Istanbul club.

‘He has 45 Belgium caps to his name and has found the net 25 times for his country.

‘We thank Michy for his services to the Blues and wish him well at Fenerbahce.’
