Marco Rose has been appointed as the manager of his hometown club, RB Leipzig. The German has signed a contract that will keep him at the Red Bull Arena until 2024.
Rose will replace Domenico Tedesco, who parted ways with the Red bulls earlier this week.He brings along Alexander Zickler, Marco Kurth and Frank Geideck to be his assistants.
RBL announced: “Marco Rose appointed new Head Coach of RB Leipzig. The 45-year-old is the club’s new head coach with immediate effect. The Leipzig-born coach signs a contract until 2024. Alexander Zickler, Marco Kurth and Frank Geideck are his new assistants
“Marco Rose has been appointed as the new head coach of RB Leipzig and has signed a two-year contract valid until June 2024. The 45-year-old replaces Domenico Tedesco, who departed the club on Wednesday, 7th September.
“Former professionals Alexander Zickler, Frank Geideck and Marco Kurth will be Rose’s assistants. The rest of his coaching team will contain goalkeeping coach Frederik Gößling, plus fitness coaches Ruwen Faller, Kai Kraft and Daniel Behlau.”
After being presented as the manager, Rose said: “I didn’t need much time to agree to become the head coach here. I’ve had a lot of free time in the past few months so I should be able to deal with the stress well. (laughs)
“Everything actually moved quite quickly. I was with friends in Salzburg for their Champions League match. And I watched a good game of football there before the call came.
“I’ve been well informed for the past three months because I live here in the city. And I know the club and the quality of the squad. The structure is good here; you have everything that you need.”
