Sevilla head coach Julen Lopetegui expressed his opinion about the match for the UEFA Super Cup, in which his team lost 1-2 to the Bavarian Bayern Munich team.
“Unfortunately, we lost some moments. But we are very proud of our team, our attitude to the situation, our efforts and character. Faith didn’t leave us. Yes, we are going home without a trophy, but we are proud of what we did,” the UEFA official website quotes Lopetegi as saying.
“We started training again only 12 days ago, but in the end, we were able to go face to face with the strongest club in Europe.”
He went on: “Losing always hurts. Especially if this is a final, if you really had a chance of winning.
“Yes, it was very tough, but we found the strength to hit the opponent. And they scored when it seemed the least possible.”
“The opponent had an incredible goalkeeper Neuer,” Lopetegi made sure to add.
