AC Ajaccio have signed Romain Hamouma from relegated club AS Saint-Etienne. The club announced this on their website: “After ten seasons at the highest level with AS Saint-Etienne, Romain Hamouma joins the White and Red. Talented, experienced, the Saint-Etienne man comes to strengthen the attacking ranks of the team. Romain Hamouma is signing up for one season and will wear number 17. Welcome to the Romain club!”
Hamouma had this to say when he put pen to the contract: “I am very happy to sign with AC Ajaccio, I had a difficult season last year and it was important for me to find a new challenge. I wanted to finish the page correctly with Saint-Etienne and I will now devote myself to a new project. I let ASSE rebuild itself. It’s a satisfaction to get involved with Ajaccio, I had very good contacts with the coach.
“I played against the ACA, these were not easy matches and for the record I had never been to Corsica. I discover and I am very happy to arrive in a club which is in a very good dynamic. There is a group that is in place, I come with a lot of humility, I will try to bring my experience to live a great human adventure and keep the club in Ligue 1. I can’t wait to discover my new teammates and people working at the club.
“Nothing is written in football! Everything is written down and it will be up to us to create something positive to maintain it. It won’t be easy because there are great teams, but we have our chances and we have to believe in it!”
