Leroy Sane Cannot Leave Man City for Bayern If His Asking Price is Not Met

Winger Leroy Sane would not be able to depart Manchester City this summer on the cheap, because the club insists on selling him at their asking price.

Sane has become a long-term target for Bayern, with rumours in Germany indicating that a five-year deal had already been agreed on.

However, Bayern Munich or some other possible club will now be required to match the asking price for the Premier League champions if they want Sane, reports Goal.com.

German newspaper Bild, which announced that Sane had negotiated terms, reports that Bayern has made a €40 million opening bid for the player.

However, Goal has heard such a value is way too small for Bayern to sell him. The player cost them €41 m when he joined from Schalke in 2016.

Sane might potentially then be left to play at Bayern till his contract’s last year, which will make him quit in the summer of 2021 for nothing.

He would become the first big signing under current permanent coach Hansi Flick at the Allianz Arena if a contract went through, after all.

Last summer, Sane was at the center of a trade drama between clubs that was supposed to trundle on until the deadline day, and had serious knee injury in the Community Shield in August.

Bayern decided against the transfer in January, with Sane already healing from the loss he’s had missed the whole season so far, despite getting closer to an on-field return as the Covid-19 crisis shut down the Premier League.
