Milan Skriniar has established himself under Antonio Conte as a key defender at Inter, making 42 appearances in all competitions last term.
And the sporting director of Inter Milan, Piero Ausilio has disclosed that a hands-off notice was given to Spurs in a meeting with the Lilywhites.
Skriniar has been tipped to make the move to North London, with Jose Mourinho reportedly trying to shore up his backline before the transfer window closes.
Now, Ausilio revealed that there were talks with Tottenham Hotspur about the 25-year-old defender.
“For me, he’s part of the project,” he told Sky Sport Italia after the game. “It was a technical decision to play D’Ambrosio instead. We have lots of games coming up and he’s still at my disposal.
“I don’t know what would happen, however, if we received a big offer for him. We know the financial situation we’re in and we’re open to any solution.
“He’ll play like he always has.”
