Real Madrid have extended Nacho’s contract through to the summer of 2023. With Raphael Varane’s future still uncertain at Santiago Bernabeu, in football today, Nacho extends his Real Madrid contract to 2023.
So, even as the La Liga giants sweat on their centre-half options, Nacho has decided to stay with the Blancos.
That is good news for Real who are worried about their on-pitch options and areas. Indeed, new coach Carlo Ancelotti will have to pick from at the heart of his back four in 2021-22.
Nacho previously held a Real contract which came to full-term in 2022. But now, he’s agreed with the Madrid club to extend his agreement by a further 12 months.

31-year-old centre-half Nacho has agreed to prolong his association with Real Madrid.
The experienced defender seems determined to remain a one-club man, at Real Madrid, where he is a home-grown talent.
A product of Real’s famed academy system, Nacho has played in 233 appearances for the club so far.
Further, he has claimed two La Liga titles and four Champions League crowns along the way.
And now, as an experienced member of the Blancos squad, he will have an important role to play heading forward.

A statement from the Blancos on their official website reads: “Real Madrid C. F. and Nacho Fernandez have reached an agreement to extend the player’s contract in a deal that ties him to the club for the next two seasons and until 30 June 2023.”
