Haaland Returns to Training Pitch after Injury, along with Reus

On Tuesday morning, attacking duo Erling Haaland and Marco Reus returned to full training following injury.

So, Borussia Dortmund received a major boost in their training. Now, with the rest of the first team also unscathed, both players are back on the practice pitches and were able to complete the full session.

Haaland hasn’t played on the side of Lucien Favre since being replaced with a knee injury in the 72nd minute of BVB’s 1-0 loss on Matchday 28 to Bayern Munich.

“It is a very positive signal,” sporting director Michael Zorc told Kicker about the return of the Dortmund captain.

While the Matchday 31 game at Fortuna Düsseldorf this weekend is coming too soon for Germany international, it is expected that Haaland will be part of the squad.

“Training himself to make that match,” Zorc said about Haaland.

Reus, meanwhile, missed 12 competitive games on February 4 due to a thigh muscle injury sustained in the 16-defeat DFB Cup Round to Werder Bremen.

During the coronavirus-enforced pause, the 31-year-old changed his recovery regimen to “recover fully from the injury and get my body into even better shape.”

A recent statement on the Dortmund website said Reus will gradually participate in more training sessions as he returns to full fitness.
