Sunday’s 5-2 smashing of Manchester City by Leicester was officially the first time in the coaching career of Pep Guardiola that his team conceded five goals.
For Guardiola, who had seen a side conceding five goals for the first time in his 686th game as a manager, it was a truly frightful afternoon.
Moreover, it was only the second time that Guardiola dropped his first home game of a league season. He previously did so in 2010-11 when Barcelona was in his charge against Hercules.
It is also the first time Manchester City has conceded five goals for 438 matches in a home game, extending back to a 5-1 loss at Maine Road in February 2003 against Arsenal.
At Etihad Stadium, Guardiola’s side were left shocked as a Jamie Vardy-inspired Leicester ran wild.
