Pep Guardiola, the Manchester City boss discussed the younger players on his team after City’s latest match.
“It was a nice game, Tommy, Taylor, Liam, all our young players played at a high standard. They were all very nice,” said Guardiola, after the match.
“Liam is a different striker than what we have in terms of physicality. We saw how good finisher he is in training. Now is the time to be patient and keep going. We are satisfied with his results. He performed very well.”
Guardiola has also announced that the club now has 13 fit players. He is trying to give their academy players an opportunity to step up:
“We need players from the academy with the situation we have right now. We’ve only got 13 players fit. He’ll stay with us with the problems we have up front. We’re going to use him.
“We’ve had Phil, Eric, Liam and we’ve had Cole Palmer, who’s going to be an excellent player.”
