Sheffield United claims they’ll work with police to find the individual who sent racial abuse to player David McGoldrick.
The Blades insist these actions can’t occur: “This can’t continue. There is something that needs to change.”
After scoring twice in his side’s 3-0 win over Chelsea in the Premier League, the 32-year-old Irish forward was targeted via Instagram Direct Messaging.
McGoldrick shared a screenshot of the message with a title saying “2020 and this is life” title.
“We will be supporting David McGoldrick as a club, and will do everything we can to find the perpetrator of this disgusting message,” the club posted on Twitter. “We must collaborate with the authorities involved to insure that the individual behind the post is brought to justice.”
