Newcastle Jets vs Perth Glory – An A-League Draw

This just in- in the A-League, Newcastle Jets and Perth Glory have just finished playing their match. And for Newcastle Jets vs Perth Glory, an A-League draw was the disappointed result.

The match just ended in a 1-1 draw. This is more bad news for Perth Glory, who lost 1-0 to Sydney FC too, in a recent A-League fixture.

Its not exactly good news for Newcastle Jets either- they ended their losing streak with just a tie. This losing streak, however, did not die down before breaking a club record of its kind.

Roy O’Donovon scored a goal for the hosts, in the 67th minute. Six minutes before this, at the 61st minute, Joel Chianese scored for the guests. Not other goals could be scored.

Chianese entered the pitch just after an hour of playing. And within a minute, the 31-year-old striker scored the opening goal of the match.

Chianese tapped the ball into the net from close range after good lead-up work. Bruno Fornaroli and Andy Keogh’s passing efforts opened up the Jets’s defence.

The lead lasted just six minutes, however. O’Donovan scored on a penalty. Kosuke Ota fouled Apostolos Stamatelopoulos, and the Jets got a penalty kick.

So, for Newcastle Jets vs Perth Glory, an A-League draw was in waiting.
