Robert Lewandowski will be unable to join the Poland squad, Bayern Munich has reported, for their match against England on March 31.
At the end of this month, Lewandowski was supposed to play and captain Poland against England in their World Cup qualifier.
But, with the coronavirus pandemic still raging across Europe, infection rates are increasing in many countries.
So, Bundesliga players, like Lewandowski, returning from a “mutation zone” country will be forced to self-isolate for 14 days.
And Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has stated that the 32-year-old would be unable to fly to the UK due to quarantine restrictions.
Speaking to German outlet Sport-Informations-Dienst, Salihamidzic said: “If it remains the case that the returnees from England have to go into quarantine, we will not be able to put Lewandowski down.”
