Barcelona’s president, Joan Laporta, was re-elected, which impressed former manager Pep Guardiola.
Laporta previously served as president of Barcelona from 2003 to 2010.
In this period, he hired Guardiola as head coach in 2008, kicking off a remarkable streak of success.
Now, Guardiola congratulated Joan Laporta on his election as president of Barcelona and hopes he will restore the club’s positive vibes.
He praised Laporta’s dominant performance and expects he will have an immediate impact.
“All I can say is that it was a lovely journey,” said Guardiola when he was asked about Barca’s election according to the Marca.
“All three options were there, they did a good job and I congratulate the president to be elected by a big margin.
“I’m pretty sure his personality will introduce a good mood, a lot of optimism in the club and all the country.
“I wish him all the best for the season and the next seasons.”
