Kroos Won’t Recover in Time to Play Qualifiers for Germany

Toni Kroos

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has been ruled out of Germany’s upcoming matches due to a minor injury.

He’s returned to Real Madrid after an adductor injury, but looks likely to be missing Germany’s first three World Cup qualifiers.

Germany announced on Tuesday that Kroos has returned to Madrid as a precaution.

He will thus not appear in any of the team’s games for the next eight days.

“Our medical department has examined and treated Toni intensively,” said head coach Joachim Low.

Low will step down from his position at the end of the rescheduled Euro 2020 tournament according to the Goal. He may go to Real Madrid, in fact, as we’ve covered before here.

“He would have liked to stay with us, and I am reluctant to be without him. But with a view to the Euros, we decided that the full recovery from this injury must be a priority,” Low went on.
