Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has commented after the Europa League 1/8 final return leg against Manchester United.
They lost 0-1, having drawn in the first game (1-1).
“We played well in both games, we created chances. But that’s football – if you don’t score, you don’t win. If you don’t take your chances, it gets more difficult and the opponents create chances. One of them was converted by Man Utd. You have to pay for your mistakes,” said Ibrahimovic to UEFA’s official website.
“We are all frustrated because we had two good matches but we are going away because we missed today’s goal which we shouldn’t have missed. But you learn from such situations. Let’s think about the upcoming matches now.”
He then analyzed his own performance: “When I shot with my head, I was sure that the ball might go in the net. But it turned out I shot it too centrally. It was clear, but it went straight into the goalkeeper.”
