A Socceroos winger may make a comeback to Perth Glory. It is being reported that Chris Ikonomidis and Joel Chianese will return to Perth Glory.
Ikonomidis suffered being on the sidelines for over a year due to an injury. He ruptured an ACL against Melbourne Victory in the February of last year.
Now however, he will travel to Coffs Harbour with the rest of Glory’s squad to face the Jets.
Glory coach Richard Garcia has remarked on the return: “We’re going to have to try and find his fitness within games because there’s no real possibility to find it in training.
“With the games coming thick and fast we’ll just have to try and work him in there slowly.”
Meanwhile, Chianese also left Glory last year so as to join Indian Super League side Hyderabad FC. But now, both Chris Ikonomidis and Joel Chianese will return to Perth Glory.
In fact, Chianese has already returned and even played a game for Glory.
Indeed, he was the solitary goal scorer for Perth Glory against Newcastle Jets:
The match ended in a 1-1 tie, though, as Chianese’s goal was undermined within six minutes by an equalizer.
Still, he scored within a minute of entering the pitch, and that sure is something!
