Antonio Cassano has criticized a film Sky Italia film on Francesco Totti. And former Italy striker Cassano said on the film about Totti – ‘I didn’t like it at all’.
In talks with Striscia La Notizia, Cassano said on the film about Totti: “I didn’t like it at all because there’s only five per cent truth in it and the rest is made up.”
“I was shown there as an aggressive man that Totti’s family can’t seem to get rid of. Look, I admit that I can sometimes behave like a madman when I’m away from home, but in Francesco’s house I’ve always behaved well. I’ve never slammed doors!” Cassano said.
The two players were friends when Cassano joined Roma in 2001. This is reflected in the film about Totti’s life and career.
But Cassano went on to talk about the casting: “Let’s not even talk about the actor who plays me. I may not be handsome, but he’s even worse! The actor playing the role of Francesco is more like Mattia Perin.”
Cassano has also shared memories of his time playing for Roma alongside Totti.
“For the first five or six months after I joined Roma, Totti wasn’t in a relationship, so we were together from morning till night. Sometimes we were at parties all night and in the morning we went straight from them to training,” he reminisced.
“And then he got a girlfriend and I did all sorts of stupid stuff on my own. I was only 20 years old. Now, if I’m lucky, I’m in bed by midnight.”
