Football Today – Mourinho Gifted Afena-Gyan Trainers Worth €800

Yesterday, we reported the football news that Jose Mourinho’s Roma squad secured a late victory over Genoa in Serie A. It was all thanks to teenage wonderkid Felix Afena-Gyan who scored a winning brace for Roma. And now, we have found that, among the Serie A news in football today, Mourinho gifted Afena-Gyan trainers worth €800.

The 18-year-old marked his third senior appearance with two stunning goals for Roma, against Italian rivals Genoa, on Sunday night.

Afena-Gyan entered the goalless game in the final 15 minutes as a substitute and scored just eight minutes later.

Then, in stoppage time, the 18-year-old unleashed a 25-yard thunderbolt goal to secure a 2-0 victory for Roma.

And not only did Felix Afena-Gyan thus open his Roma goals’ tally with a brace, he also earned overnight popularity.

But, best of all perhaps, the Roma teenager has gained himself some new footwear from his manager, The Special One.

Roma head coach Jose Mourinho has gifted teen sensation Felix Afena-Gyan expensive sneakers, as promised, for winning them a match.

“I promised him that [if he scored] I would buy him a pair of shoes that he really likes, that cost €800,” Mourinho revealed to DAZN.

The coach, on Sunday, saw Afena-Gyan become the third-youngest foreign player to score multiple goals in a Serie A match.

And Mourinho further said: “He came over to me and told me not to forget that. Tomorrow morning, I will go and buy them.

“Then, tomorrow, the Primavera (Under-19s) will be playing – and I’m sorry for (manager) Alberto De Rossi, but Felix won’t be playing with them!”
