The Croatian national football team made its first ‘mistake’ in their journey to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar. They had to come back twice from behind and it was Luka Modrić who saved them in the end. Yesterday in Group H, among other of yesterday’s qualifying World Cup football results, Modric saved Croatia with a 2-2 tie.
Croatia played only 2-2 (1-2) in Osijek’s City Garden against Slovakia, who lost their chances of entering the final tournament.
Meanwhile, Croatia themselves dropped to second place in the group with 17 points, two less than Russia. The latter team, in the same Group H, celebrated a 2-1 away in Maribor.
Even then, it was the Slovaks who led twice in the football match.

In the 20th minute, Ivan Schranz scored with a header for 1-0, but just 5 minutes later, Andrej Kramarić equalized.
However, in the 45th minute, Lukaš Haraslin brought the Slovaks another lead, for a second time, making it 2-1.
This time, Croatia had to wait longer for their equalizer. It was not until the 71st minute that Luka Modrić scored from a free-kick to make it 2-2.
So, this is how Croatia managed to barely draw with Slovakia, who also lost to Russia before them (football scores).
