World Cup Football Results – Liechtenstein Conceded 9 Goals to Germany

Germany won their penultimate World Cup qualifier with a resounding victory over Liechtenstein, thanks, partly, to Leroy Sane’s two goals. In this Group J 9-0 domination of World Cup football results, Liechtenstein conceded 9 goals to Germany, while scoring none.

Last night’s qualifiers, on Thursday, saw Germany crushing Liechtenstein 9-0 in World Cup qualification Group J.

With this smashing win, Hansi Flick became the first German head coach to win his first six games in charge.

The former Bayern Munich manager began his tenure with a 2-0 win against these opponents in September.

And it seems now that he will take the overall record from his immediate national team head coach ancestor Joachim Low.

Moreover, Flick’s Germany, even before the game in Wolfsburg, already have a place in next year’s World Cup in Qatar.

Ilkay Gundogan’s early penalty goal followed a foul that resulted in a red card for Jens Hofer.

Liechtenstein were down one player and their opponents, the Die Mannschaft team, made full use of their numerical advantage.

Indeed, Germany raced into a 4-0 half-time lead thanks to an own goal by Daniel Kaufmann. The Germans also scored themselves in the first half, with two goals by Leroy Sane and one by Marco Reus.

Sane added a fifth goal early in the second half. Then, finally, Thomas Muller’s brace, a superb Ridle Baku shot, and Maximilian Goppel’s own goal sealed the victory late on.

Group J Result:

Germany 9 – 0 Liechtenstein

Goals: Gundogan 11’ (P), Kaufmann 20’ (OG), Sane 22’ + 49’, Reus 23’, Muller 76’ + 86’, Baku 80’, Goppel 89’ (OG)
