World Cup Football Results – Italy Finally Get a Win

Italy took on Lithuania at the Mapei stadium as a part of the World Cup 2022 qualifying campaign. So, yesterday saw, in qualifying World Cup football results, Italy finally get a win, 5-0 Over Lithuania, in Group C. Meanwhile, in Group I, England and Poland tied with one goal each, as the highlights of this football match show.

World Cup Football Results – Italy Finally Get a Win

Roberto Mancini’s men claimed a 5-0 victory over the guests extending their own record for the longest international unbeaten streak.

Although they have now gone 37 games without a loss, they were actually struggling for a win (the football news). After drawing 1-1 with Bulgaria, they suffered worse football scores against Switzerland, with whom they tied 0-0 in Group C.

In this match, however, Moise Kean alone added his name to the scoreboard twice for Italy. After Kean’s opening score, Italy enjoyed an immediate own goal from Lithuania and three other goals.

Squadra Azzurra remains the leader of the group C, winning, devastatingly, by 5-0 over Lithuania in this World Cup qualifier.

As for another clash from last evening, Euro-2020 runner-ups ended up in 1-1 away draw with Poland.

England’s captain Harry Kane opened the score with only 18 minutes remaining on the clock.

In this match of late goals, after Kane’s opener, Poland’s Damian Szymanski restored the parity in an injury time strike. He hit the ball with a header into the back of the net.

Szymanski thus single-handedly placed his national team third in the group I while the Three Lions are now placed first.

So, Three Lions’ national team head coach Gareth Southgate made an accurate football prediction as Poland were indeed dangerous rivals.

Group C

Group I
