World Cup Football Results – Croatia Won 3-0 in Group H

The Croatian national football team defeated Slovenia 3-0 (1-0) in the match of the 6th round of Group H of the qualifications for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Among other of yesterday’s World Cup football results, Croatia won 3-0 in Group H, with Russia and Slovakia also winning.

In front of 16,237 spectators at Poljud, Croatia dominated over Slovenia from the first to the last minute.

They eventually won 3-0, retaliating for the unpleasant defeat from the start of the qualifications in March in Ljubljana.

The scorers for Croatia’s fourth victory in these qualifiers were Marko Livaja (33), Mario Pašalić (66), and Nikola Vlašić (90+4).

Croatian coach Zlatko Dalic sent the Split audience’s favourite – Hajduk striker Livaja – to the field from the first minute.

And that move proved to be a complete success because Livaja did score – the first goal, in the 33rd minute.

After six rounds, Croatia has 13 points, the same as Russia, who defeated Malta 2-0 in Moscow on Tuesday.

On the other hand, Slovenia fell to fourth place with seven points. Also, Slovakia is in third place, with nine points after a 2-0 victory against Cyprus in Bratislava.

Finally, Malta and Cyprus are in the last two places in Group H with four points each.

In the 7th round, Croatia will play in Cyprus on October 8th.

At the beginning of the action, Brozović reacted excellently, winning the ball about 30 meters from the Slovenian goal.

They employed Juranović on the right flank. A cross on Pašalić’s head followed then, but he hit the goalpost from five meters.

Fortunately, the rebounding ball connected Livaja’s head, who concentrated on hitting the undefended part of the net for a goal.

Pašalić then increased the lead to 2-0 in the middle of the second half. He scored at 66 minutes, but he had the simplest role in the action that veterans Lovren and Perišić created.

Lovren found Perišić on the left wing with a diagonal from his half. He “broke” his keeper with a great dribble and then with the return ball he found the unguarded Pašalić. Pašalić was at five meters and he was not indeliberate in hitting the empty net.

Vlašić’s goal set the final 3-0 in the fourth minute of overtime. He flew through the air and headed Oršić’s cross into the net.
