In the football news (via Twitter) coming most recently out of Premier League, Trent Alexander-Arnold renews his contract with Liverpool.
The Reds player has signed a new long-term contract extension with Liverpool, the club has announced.
The 22-year-old right-back made his first-team debut for Liverpool in a League Cup match against Tottenham in August 2016.
Alexander-Arnold has made 179 appearances for the Reds.
He was a key member of Jurgen Klopp’s squad that won the Premier League title in 2019-20. That was the season when they ended the club’s 30-year wait to crown themselves as EPL champions again.
Trent Alexander-Arnold Renews His Contract with Liverpool
Trent Alexander-Arnold, the Reds’ right-back, has committed his future to the club ahead of the start of the 2021-22 season.
“I’m honoured to be given the opportunity and to be shown the trust in the club to be given an extension, so it was a no-brainer for me,” Alexander-Arnold told the club’s official website.
“The state the club is in and where I’m at in my career is always a good option for me. To extend and make sure I’m here longer is always a good thing. I’m made up.
“It’s the only club I’ve ever really known, so to be here for this amount of time and extending to be here for a longer amount of time is amazing for me and my family.
“It’s a proud moment for me – it always is – signing a new contract here. To be given the trust, as I said before, by the club and the staff is an amazing feeling.”
