Tottenham Finalized the Football Transfer of Romero

Cristian Romero

Tottenham have strengthened their defense by signing Argentina international Cristian Romero. Tottenham finalized the football transfer of Romero from Atalanta and even announced the exciting transfer news football on Twitter.

23-year-old Argentinean Cristian Romero is Tottenham’s third signing under their new head coach Nuno Espirito Santo (the football news).

The first two transfers happened with the arrival of Sevilla winger Bryan Gil and the loan signing of Pierluigi Gollini.

Before joining Spurs, Gollini was the Atalanta goalkeeper, and so he and Romero played as teammates in the 2020-21 season.

And now, Tottenham Hotspur has signed defender Cristian Romero, as they themselves confirmed on their official website yesterday evening.

They have secured Romero’s transfer for a fee of £47 million, if we are to believe the initial reports.

Also, the Argentina international has apparently signed a five-year contract, that is, a permanent deal, with the north London club.

Finally, Romero is the club’s second-most expensive signing, second only to Tanguy Ndombele’s £53.8 million move from Lyon in 2019.

Tottenham suffered through the departures of Toby Alderweireld and Juan Foyth earlier in this summer transfer window.

However, now, centre-back Cristian Romero’s arrival will provide the Spurs with a much-needed boost to their backline, their defense line.

Romero will play under the number 4 jersey at Tottenham. And the club has already put up the shirt, with the new number 4, for sale on their online retail platforms.
