Serie A Football Results – Mourinho’s Roma Suffer a Rare Defeat

From the very beginning of the Hellas Verona – AS Roma game, the visitors created many chances.

And in fact, Roma, who had enjoyed a perfect start to their season, eventually did take the lead first. Shortly before the break, Lorenzo Pellegrini sent the ball into the bottom right corner of the net.

Meanwhile, the hosts desperately needed to equalize and they did do so within minutes in the second half. Antonin Barak provided his first goal with newly appointed Igor Tudor in charge.

Verona then came from behind and took the lead just five minutes after their first goal. Caprari stroke the ball into the far corner to make it 1-2 for hosts Verona.

This lead itself, however, lasted only three minutes, as Roma’s Ivan Ilić equalized, prodding the ball past his own goalkeeper.

The second half wasn’t slowing either team down and an intense game continued.

Eventually, Verona retook the lead on the hour mark through their captain Davide Faraoni. Faraoni managed to produce a snap shot past a helpless Rui Patricio.

Later, the final whistle rang and it recorded Giallorossi’s first defeat in seven games under Jose Mourinho.

On the other hand, Igor Tudor’s squad secured their first points of the season.
