Salah Dismisses Transfer Rumours Linking Him to Barcelona

Mohamed Salah says he is “happy” to hear that Barcelona want to sign him in January. However, by insisting that he would rather stay at Liverpool, Salah dismisses transfer rumours linking him to Barcelona.

Recent reports in Spain claim that new Barcelona head coach Xavi is hell-bent on bringing Mohamed Salah to Camp Nou.

As his side look to strengthen their attack, the 29-year-old super striker from Liverpool would really spruce up their frontline.

On top of all this, Salah’s current deal with Liverpool is going to expire in the summer of 2023.

However, throwing water on Barcelona’s aspirations, the Egypt international is yet in talks to sign a contract extension at Anfield.

Indeed, Salah has decided to commit his future to Liverpool, although the interest from the Catalan team is flattering.

“I read what was said about Xavi’s interest to sign me,” Salah (the football news) said to Egyptian broadcaster MBC.

Salah continued however: “This is something that makes me happy that a team like Barcelona is interested in me, but I’m happy in Liverpool and we will see what happens in the future.”

“At the moment, I prefer to stay in the Premier League as it’s the strongest league in the world.”
