Ferland Mendy is working hard to recover from his injury, but, for the time being, he is stuck in place. However, despite his indefinite unavailability for this season, Real Madrid will not let Ferland Mendy leave on a football transfer.
Mendy has been a consistent figure in terms of fitness since joining Real Madrid from Lyon in 2019. In fact, he has missed only five games until last season.
However, after making as many as 38 appearances last season, he had to miss the final nine games for Real. This on account of a calf injury that caused inflammation.
As a result of that issue, Mendy lost a lot of muscle mass during his recovery. He has spent the summer so far in recovery and it will continue even as the new season commences.
Real Madrid Will Not Let Ferland Mendy Leave on a Football Transfer
According to Marca, Real Madrid expect the left-back to be out until September, that is, a month more at least.
They are thus effectively ruling him out of at least the first three La Liga games.
The injury, however, is unlikely to have an impact on Mendy’s influence for Real Madrid throughout the season.
This is because new head coach Carlo Ancelotti is clearly counting on him for the coming season, per the report.
As a result, in optimistic transfer news football, Real Madrid will not entertain any offers for the 26-year-old this summer.
This is a heartening update, because the football news until recently had warned that even Mendy was not safe at the Madrid club.
