Premier League Football Today – Conte Believes Spurs Performed Well

Tottenham Hotspur, under the care of their new head coach Antonio Conte, took on Brentford at home on Thursday night. And they won, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, by a confident 2-0 tally. So, after we covered their 2-0 home triumph in Premier League football today, Conte believes Spurs performed well, too.

Son Heung-min played a part in both goals in the match, the first of which was an unfortunate own goal.

Just past the 10-minute mark, Son struck a dangerous cross that deflected off Bretford’s Sergi Canos into the net.

After this own goal, in the 65th minute, on a quick counter-attack, Sergio Reguilon passed to Son who scored easily. He slotted a shot in at the back post, into an open net.

And Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte is pleased with his team.

Conte got what he must’ve have demanded with harsh words following the last-gasp loss in Slovenia (here’s the football news).

Head Coach Antonio told Spurs TV: “It was a good win, a good win against a very dangerous team, well organised, very strong on set pieces and the throw-ins always dangerous. We performed well, with great attention, great desire to get three points, to finish with a clean sheet, always important.

“We missed chances to improve the final result, but it’s important to create chances and I think we’re going to improve in our performance and the danger (we create) in the opponents’ box.”

“It was a good performance against a dangerous team,” Conte said. “I’m happy because I have seen a great commitment and a good passion about the players.

“It’s a good reaction [after last week]. In a loss you learn a lot but now we have to think about another Premier League game on Sunday [against Norwich City].
