Premier League Football Results – West Ham Regain Their Winning Ways
Emmanuel Dennis fired a fine left-foot effort from the edge of the box and scored for a 1-0 home tally. However, after this, Claudio Ranieri’s side were unable to build on their advantage.
At the same time, after this initial setback, visitors West Ham pushed forward with intent. And they promptly drew level in the 27th minute with a first-time drive from Tomas Soucek. Soucek latched on to a through ball from the influential Jarrod Bowen and equalized 1-1 for the Hammers.
And just two minutes later, Said Benrahma put the visitors ahead, drilling home for 1-2. To assist him, Michail Antonio had cut in from the left and slipped the ball into the Algeria international’s path.
West Ham head coach David Moyes’ side then thought they had scored a third goal through Bowen. However, VAR overturned this effort when they spotted a foul by Soucek on Dennis.
But the Hammers did eventually double their advantage, that is, go up by 1-3, through a Mark Noble penalty. They won this penalty when referee Darren England consulted the pitch-side monitor when Watford keeper Daniel Bachmann brought down Bowen.
And then, finally, substitute Nikola Vlasic completed the rout by slotting home after good assist work from the impressive Bowen.
