According to multiple Italian media reports, 18 Inter fans have been charged by police.

The charges have to do with their involvement in the brawl that broke out in Piazza Alberti. It’s a five minutes’ drive from the Artemio Franchi and it was a scene of chaos before the Inter-Fiorentina fixture.

Following the altercation, police stopped a group of Inter fans, and discovered iron and wooden sticks inside these supporters’ vehicles.

According to Calciomercato.com, furthermore, police authorities already knew 13 of the 18 fans that they charged.

This entire group of fans will likely face a ban from entering Italian stadiums for a period of ten years.

Police have also identified 12 more people living in the Florence area, who may have engaged in the pre-match clash.

So, an investigation is underway to determine whether there are any more people responsible for that night’s disturbances.
