The Real Madrid president has echoed the certainty of Karim Benzema (the football news) and Toni Kroos in football today.

Kylian Mbappe, the World Cup-winning forward is currently continuing to run down his contract at Paris Saint-Germain.

And for some time, viz. all this past summer, speculations linked the 22-year-old to a move to the Spanish capital.

Come January of next year, Kylian Mbappe will find himself in a position where he can discuss pre-contract terms.

If the France international and Paris Saint-Germain cannot agree about a contract extension, he is free to find suitors.

He may not only leave Parc des Princes, but leave France itself, by signing with clubs outside of France.

And, amidst these rough calculations, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has come through with a more concrete timeline for Mbappe.

El Debate asked Real president Perez for an update on the Blancos’ pursuit of Mbappe.

And Perez replied: “We hope that on January 1 everything can be solved.”

But Perez quickly backtracked by adding: “My words were misinterpreted.

“What I said is that we have to wait until next year to find out, always with respect to PSG with whom we have good relations.”

“It will probably take about three years for us to return to the figures we entered before the pandemic,” he finished. “We have gone from entering €900m to just over €600m.”
